About
I enjoy reading and writing stories that confront and challenge the normal, the accepted, the assumed. I am interested in transforming everyday situations through small, seemingly insignificant details into something bizarre and extraordinary. Absurdity has always intrigued me, as it is often the nonsensical which sheds the brightest light on sense and reason. I am interested in opposites and contradictions, in satire and irony, in finding humor in tragedy and tragedy in humor. I am drawn to the things in life that are overlooked, ignored, or dismissed because they are seen as uncomfortable, insignificant, useless, or ugly. It is these runts of the litter that take hold of my imagination and lead me down strange and wonderful paths.
Three of my favorite authors are Fyodor Dostoevsky, Witold Gombrowicz, and Franz Kafka. I currently reside in Boise, Idaho, USA.
